2 descriptions : EBZ Irland - (from "Meitheal" 2022)

Since 1984, the European Centre for Culture and Communication Ireland (In German: EBZ; or: Europäisches Bildungs- und Begegnungszentrum Irland; represented by Gaeltacht Irland Reisen), has offered and organised educational / cultural visits, projects, seminars and workshops in the Irish Republic and in Northern Ireland, each of which complies with the respective special educational requirements of community adult education centres, trade unsions, churches and other institutions working in the educational / cultural field.

The EBZ Irland is part of and is centre of a comprehensive European-German-Irish/Celtic network which provides multifaceted contacts to persons and institutions from all parts of society – in both countries.

EBZ Irland - from "Meet the Buyer Workshop; Northern Ireland 2022,

One of the biggest German group tour operators specialising in Ireland and Northern Ireland for more than 35 years.   We are "different": no classical, typical (sightseeing) tours. But we are involved in educational/cultural and religious group travel projects, tours, seminars, conferences  which we organise – with a clear European/ cultural / political approach.
We do a lot for the Causeway Coastal route, the Wild Atlantic Way and the other rural regions which we prefer.
Close co-operation with www.irland-journal.de and with www.gaeltacht.de.

Gaeltacht Irland Reisen – Meitheal + Meet the Buyer, NI:

Gaeltacht Irland Reisen is one of the big players for Ireland in Germany – since almost 40 years - but is and works very differently to others.  Gaeltacht’s clients stay longer and visit more (western and northern) regions than average. Together with the quarterly www.irland-journal.de we published a 100 page brochure on both: CCR and WAW.
Gaeltacht brought app.18.000 pax to Ireland in 2019 - before the pandemic  but mostly no real pre-booked packages. We advise people what to do and where to go: rural (and green) tourism is a big  issue. Our Individuals  go for B&B and Selfcatering mostly and travel very independently. They depend also on printed material, not only on Web or APPs – and we also.
Gaeltacht Irland Reisen is clearly related to EBZ Irland - our of group department.

Ja, zwischendurch wechseln wir die Sprache.
Jetzt gehts um die die Zahl

40 Jahre Gaeltacht.

Und hier könnt Ihr (auf Deutsch) weiterlesen,
und auch ein ziemlich einzigartiges Gratulationsschreiben entdecken.

Important things to know about us here in Moers

(a small list of helpful links)

Ireland, the socalled “Emerald Isle” on the north-western edge of Europe, is a place that for a few decades now is a fascinating destination for travellers and culture seekers alike.

Moers, at the Lower Rhine in one of the most westerly parts of Germany, in the course of the last thirty years has managed to grow into a kind of centre as far as German-Irish activities are concerned. It is part and heart of a European German Irish Celtic network where many contacts with people and institutions from all areas of society in both countries, Germany and Ireland, converge. Our most prominent aim here it is to invite people to take a closer look at history, culture and politics of Europe – especially from an Irish perspective and going along with the invitation to pay a visit to the island oneself.

You may (not) know – but you should:

www.gaeltacht.de

– Hosting information on more than 4,000 CDs and over 1,000 articles and texts on musicians, bands, regions from the realm of Celtic music all over the world.

www.termine-folk-lied-weltmusik.de
On this website many Irish and other music events were listed that took place all over Germany. "At the end": appr. 3500 events – all in the future We use some of the Irish/Celtic events to promote Ireland. And us. And you`?
But I (Christian Ludwig) have departed from this German music magazin in 2021. Still we co-operate and work together. The new webseite is the old one:

Ireland in Germany, A Wider and Deeper Footprint  (Download-Link is further down...)

11 April 2018

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ireland in Germany, A Wider and Deeper Footprint

The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Coveney TD, has published a comprehensive review of relations between Ireland and Germany, on the occasion of a visit by Germany’s new Federal Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, to Dublin.

The review – Ireland in Germany: A Wider and Deeper Footprint – makes 23 recommendations including plans to open a new Consulate in 2019 in Frankfurt, the financial capital of the euro zone.

At a press conference, the Tánaiste told his German counterpart that Germany is an indispensable partner for Ireland and said:

“Our relationship with Germany has always been vitally important and never more so than it is today. Germany is a leading destination for Irish goods and services, an important inward investor and a valuable source of tourism for Ireland. But strong though our relationship already is, we should actively look at ways in which we can develop it still further.

“I therefore very much welcome the completion of this Review. Implementation will ensure that our relationship with Germany is further strengthened, enhancing the partnership and friendship we wish to see between our two countries.”

The Tánaiste and the visiting Minister discussed a wide range of international issues, including the Middle East Peace Process and EU relations with Africa. The Tánaiste thanked the Minister for Germany’s support and solidarity on Brexit and both agreed on the need for significant progress in the current negotiations before the European Council in June.

At the meeting it was agreed that formal consultations at State Secretary and Secretary General level would be held on a regular basis – a move which the Tánaiste cast in terms of a wider, ongoing process of strengthening existing alliances in the European Union and building new ones.

The German Market

Germany is the third largest source of visitors to the island of Ireland. End of year CSO results for 2017 indicate there were 681,400 arrivals from Germany into the Republic of Ireland, an increase of +4.5% on 2016.
Germany is the island of Ireland’s most important non-English speaking market in terms of visitors, holidaymakers and revenue and is estimated to be worth close to €400 million annually to the economy.
Germany is also one of the largest outbound travel markets in the world and the largest in Europe with a total spend of €68.2 billion per year.

This is one of the many reasons for A (new) Strategie for Growth

The two following graphics say it all : Gaeltacht delivers to the regions, since the very beginning, more than 35 years ago. Two of the mny reasons: we have actively promoted these "other" reasons and obviously convinced many clients. And our clients stay longer, spend more money. Because many of them bring their own car to Ireland...:

Two graphics show what we have achieved over the years:
#  our clients stay long (er)

and

visit many (more) regions as follows
